Popcorn Cauliflower with Turmeric Recipe

A Crunchy & Healthy Snack or Side Dish

This recipe is a great one for the whole family especially for those who have difficulty getting children to eat vegetables.

Cauliflower roasted at a high temp to give it crunch, this treat is slightly sweet and very popular with children. Have it as a side dish or on its own as a healthy snack. The addition of turmeric gives the benefits of its powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-parasitic properties.

  • Servings: 4

  • 4 teaspoons raw sugar or rapadura

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 tablespoon ground turmeric or  3xR Super Blend Turmeric Powder with Curcumin

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • 2 heads cauliflower, cut into bite-size pieces

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

  2. Whisk sugar, salt, paprika, turmeric, onion powder, and garlic powder together in a bowl.

  3. Spread cauliflower onto the prepared baking sheet; spray liberally with cooking spray. Season cauliflower with spice mixture.

  4. Roast in the preheated oven until cauliflower is tender, 30 to 35 minutes.

In a large bowl whisk together: olive oil (probably about 5 tbs), with a touch of garlic infused olive oil, and chillie pepper infused olive oil; roughly a tsp of salt, some black pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (use whatever spices/herbs you prefer). Toss the cut and washed cauliflower (pat dry so oil/spice mix adheres properly) in the oil mixture (try to toss by moving the bowl in a circular motion, instead of using fingers, as this can break apart the cauliflower pieces) until everything is coated nicely. Bake this on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper for approx. 45 minutes at a 415 degrees, tossing the cauliflower every 15 minutes with a spatula until they became golden-brown, and a little bit blackened on the tops.
