Turmeric Broth Detox Soup

Turmeric Broth Detox Soup
A natural, healing, soothing and comforting Ayurvedic soup.

INGREDIENTS – TURMERIC BROTH
1–2 tbs olive oil or ghee
1 onion- diced
1 tbs fresh ginger, grated
4–5 garlic cloves
¼ tsp mustard seed (optional)
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp coriander
¾ – 1 tsp salt
4 cups water
4 cups veggie or chicken stock
¼ tsp cayenne, or more to taste
1–2 teaspoons 3xR Curcumin Super Blend Powder or 2–3 teaspoons fresh turmeric, finely grated – or a little of both
Squeeze of lime or lemon juice or 1-2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar

Middle Eastern “Minestrone”
½ cup dry basmati rice, pasta, or quinoa 1 cup cooked lentils
1 cup cooked garbanzo beans
1 can diced tomatoes
Season with lime and salt to taste, a drizzle of olive oil and fresh cilantro leaves
Instructions
1.   In a large heavy bottom pot, sauté onion in olive oil over medium heat for 5 minutes until fragrant and golden. Add ginger, garlic, and any fresh turmeric and sauté 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and golden.  Add the remaining spices and sauté 1-2 more minutes.
2.   Add water, stock and salt. Bring to a simmer. Add vinegar or citrus. (I like a squeeze of lime) Taste. Adjust salt, lime and spice level to your liking. At this point you will have a flavourful base to add what you like. You can also refrigerate or freeze this in batches for later use.
3.   Add your 3xR Curcumin Super Blend Powder just before serving in order to preserve it health benefits.

Garnish with fresh herbs: cilantro, spring onions, dill and serve with lime and drizzle with olive oil. To make it creamy, add coconut milk if you like!!!
